What are the responsibilities and job description for the Guest Services Manager position at Inn At Morro Bay?
We are seeking a dynamic and service-oriented Guest Services Manager to lead our front office and guest experience operations at our scenic hotel in Morro Bay. The ideal candidate will ensure the highest standards of hospitality are consistently delivered, creating a welcoming and memorable stay for our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate staff to ensure effective team performance and high associate morale.
- Review and approve the department’s daily payroll activity, maintain punch lists for key personnel, and manage outside security personnel as required.
- Maximize revenue generation through effective yield management and co-manage blackout periods with the Director of Sales.
- Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of various hotel departments, including the property management system, telephone system, and liaising with the gift shop operator.
- Continuously enhance the guest experience by ensuring excellent service, addressing guest concerns, and promoting safety awareness.
- Maintain and improve Quality Assurance standards, ensuring adherence to hotel policies and procedures.
- Approve department-related expenditures, submit for payment, and manage ongoing incentive programs.
- Represent the hotel during assigned hotel and franchise inspections and liaise with various vendors (e.g., laundry/valet service).
- Participate in department head meetings, weekly sales meetings, and effectively communicate with the General Manager and other team members.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college or a degree in hospitality management is a plus.
- Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within the hospitality industry.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience in yield management and maximizing hotel revenue.
- Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Ability to stand for long periods and lift/carry items as necessary.
- Proficient in property management systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and payroll processing.
