What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Technician position at Inmotion?
SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:
Primary responsibilities of the Quality Technician include support and evaluation of line failures as well as customer returned products. The Quality Technician will be expected to have experience and proficiency in using test equipment as well as a keen eye for visual inspection to support troubleshooting of defective products.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Along with those identified below, other duties may be assigned.
- Monitor, validate, inspect, analyze, and test quality of products and processes
- Investigate non-conformance issues to determine root cause and recommend corrective action(s) using systematic problem solving methods (e.g. 5 Why)
- Create, maintain, and comply with quality documentation
- Recognize trends, analyze data and propose solutions to recurring problems in processes and equipment using statistical analysis/techniques (e.g. SPC, Pareto)
- Assist in developing and documenting inspection criteria, test methods, gage evaluation for products and test equipment (Gage R&R)
- Create, issue and communicate Quality Alerts to production floor when needed for internal/external findings
- Provide technical support/recommendations to operations and/or engineering to identify improvements in cycle-time, yield, unit cost, quality, safety and compliance of production processes
- Collaborate with production personnel and other departments to gather information and draft reports to improve equipment, processes, and products
- Assist in internal or external quality audits and field investigations as needed
- Daily reporting of quality for line rejects & customer returns as they arise
- Travel to customer/supplier sites to support corrective measures, audits etc. may be required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES NECESSARY:
- Strong aptitude and experience with systematic identification of root cause and corrective measures
- Must work and have track record of working with minimal supervision
- Math skills to include simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, and fractions
- Familiarity with various statistical and quality methodologies including but not limited to Statistical Process Control (SPC), 5S, 8D, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (R&R)
- Understanding of production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of products
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Experience with troubleshooting electrical/electromagnetic systems strongly preferred
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
