Head of Global Sourcing

We are looking for an experienced commodity trader and originator to build InLog's sourcing function from the ground up. You are not inheriting an operation. You are creating one. On day one, you have a contracted buyer and 25,000 MT of soybeans to move monthly. Your job is to build the supplier relationships, secure the contracts, and own the supply side of every transaction InLog executes.

Key Responsibilities

• Commodity Origination & Supply Contracting: Build and manage InLog's supply-side book. Source bulk soft commodities - soybeans, sugar, and future products - directly from US producers and major commodity houses. Own the contracts and relationships from the first call to the signed deal.
• Relationship Management: Establish and maintain InLog's credibility with export desks at ADM, Bunge, Cargill, Louis Dreyfus, CHS, GROWMARK, and comparable organizations. You are InLog's front door to the US commodity supply chain.
• Market Intelligence: Track and translate commodity market conditions into actionable sourcing strategy. Operate fluently in physical markets: metric tons, basis, FOB/CIF pricing, forward contracts.
• International Buyer Coordination: Work alongside the Head of Global Logistics and leadership to align supply contracts with foreign buyer requirements, particularly in Asia-Pacific markets.
• Function Building: Build the infrastructure, processes, and - over time - the team behind InLog's sourcing operation. Nothing exists yet.
• Cross-functional Partnership: Work closely with the Head of Global Logistics - your peer who owns carrier relationships and ocean execution. Advise leadership on supply structure and sourcing strategy as new verticals and trade lanes are added.

WHAT YOU'VE DONE

• 8 to 12 years at a major commodity trading house (ADM, Bunge, Cargill, Louis Dreyfus, CHS, GROWMARK) or a large cooperative with an active export program. You did not just work there - you built relationships, executed deals, and left with a real network.
• You have warm, working relationships with export desks at the organizations above. Not familiarity - the kind where your calls get returned.
• Deep experience with bulk soft commodity exports at vessel scale. You have executed 25,000 MT transactions and know what that requires end to end.
• You understand the full international trade chain: originating from US producers, coordinating with bulk vessel logistics, delivering into foreign buyer markets.
• You speak the language: metric tons, basis, forward contracts, FOB/CIF, physical vs. futures markets.
• You have bypassed regional brokers to transact directly with major American producers. That is your standard operating mode.
• Builder mentality. No infrastructure exists. You are building the function.

Strong differentiators (preferred)

• Existing relationships with senior leadership or export desks at the top American ag commodity conglomerates
• Direct experience with international buyers, specifically Asia-Pacific markets
• Time on an export desk specifically - not just domestic origination
• Experience serving as the credibility bridge between a newer or smaller buyer and established commodity suppliers

InLog International is building a next-generation B2B trade platform connecting US suppliers with international business customers in Asia-Pacific and beyond. Our current book of business is bulk agricultural commodity exports - soybeans and soft commodities - moving at scale from the US to international markets. We are backed by multi-year contracts and growing fast. The business will evolve as we expand into new products and trade lanes. This is a ground-floor opportunity to build something that does not yet exist.
