Job Summary
Assists with the design, procurement, assembly, installation and troubleshooting of automation equipment. Coordinates activities for the project or equipment to ensure that the design and quality requirements are accomplished within the time frame and funding parameters.

Operations
- Coordinates and assists with the purchasing, manufacturing, final assembly, final inspection and shipment of equipment.
- Works with suppliers, engineering, manufacturing personnel and assembly technician(s) for resolution of procurement, manufacturing or design related issues.
- Establishes a work plan for specific aspects of a project such as concept layouts, technical studies, and equipment design, preparation of technical publications or manuals and raw material requirements.
- Performs cost analysis and controls expenditures within limitations of project budget. Reviews findings with the department engineer and/or manager prior to releasing information to customer.
- Investigates new machine design or controls technology for automation equipment.
- Develops and distributes equipment usage manuals, maintenance, and service schedules.
- Installs and/or troubleshoots equipment at customer’s facilities, and trains customer’s employees in the proper setup, use and maintenance of Inline automation the equipment.
- Travel is required to support trade shows, applications engineering activities and routine customer contact, as needed.
Safety

- Report to supervision conditions or practices that are either unsafe or that may adversely impact the environment, to ensure prompt resolution of potential hazards.
- Attend scheduled EH&S training program.
- Actively support the organization’s efforts to meet or exceed EH&S goals and plans.
- Recommend improved EH&S practices.
- Practices safe work habits and follows general safety procedures such as proper lifting and bending, ergonomics, proper use of equipment and use of personal protection equipment (PPE).
Product Safety and Quality
- Follows Product Safety and Quality standards.
- Follows GMP’s in regard to food contact packaging as it pertains to the employee.
- Follows IPC product defense standards and complies with all SQF requirements.
Minimum Requirements (include education, experience, special skills, licenses and/or certifications required.) The list below represents the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. - Associate’s degree in Engineering (or related technical field) or 2 years’ experience in machine design or assembly and/or maintenance of automation equipment.
- Experience with common computer programs including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Experience with CAD (Solidworks) is beneficial.
- Ability to read mechanical, pneumatic and electrical wiring diagrams or drawings. Familiarity with electrical controls such as timers, relays, switches, and PLC programming knowledge is a major benefit.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
