You are expected to run the department with high autonomy, solve problems at the root, and proactively advise management on what should change (equipment, blank sizes, programming approach, tooling, staffing, or scheduling) to improve performance. You will also step in and operate when needed and know when to escalate issues that require broader support.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Know your load (current, future, and past due) and act accordingly
- Deploy people and balance machine loads to maximize output and operator-free uptime (breaks, lunches, nights, weekends)
- Ensure all equipment is maintained, properly tooled, and running reliably; escalate issues you cannot quickly resolve
- Own the quality of every part produced and drive root-cause corrective actions when problems occur
- Track and maintain productivity targets
- Enforce adherence to processes and procedures by your team and upstream work centers
- Use JobBoss and uniPoint accurately and ensure your team does the same
- Lead, train, coach, and develop your team while enforcing safety protocols and proper use of PPE
- Advise management on process, equipment, tooling, or staffing changes that will improve department performance
- Help fellow departments when they get in trouble

- Ability to work independently, prioritize, and drive continuous improvement
