Description:
We're looking for a Finishing Carpenter / General Construction Worker to help us with various projects in the Central Oregon area and possibly Portland / Roseburg areas if the candidate(s) are a good fit and open for travelling.
This position is a 1099 position. Opportunities for additional work are available to applicants with additional skill sets.
Responsibilities:
High-quality finish carpentry work, including installation of trim, moldings, doors, cabinetry, and other custom woodwork
Meeting standards for precision, durability, and aesthetics of standard construction.
Basic Framing Skills
Basic Drywall Skills
Ability to work independently and adhere to standard QC guidelines
Working with company owner to ensure timely scheduling and completion of projects.
Requirements:
Professional finishing carpentry experience
Solid base of knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, and tools
Ability to work independently.
Attention to detail
Detailed communication skills
Compensation:
$25-30 - DOE
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install trim, cabinetry, doors, windows, and fixtures with accuracy and attention to detail
- Perform framing tasks including metal stud framing and wood framing to support interior finishes
- Read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure precise execution of finishing details
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently for tasks such as caulking, plastering, drywall installation, and sanding
- Execute concrete forming, rebar installation, roofing, siding, stucco application, and water damage restoration as needed
- Fabricate custom components in the shop or on-site using woodworking techniques and CNC machinery when applicable
- Complete restoration projects involving mold remediation, water damage repair, or structural refinishing while adhering to safety protocols
- Install flooring (tile, hardwood), wall coverings (plastering/stucco), and perform remodeling or renovation work including fixture installation and door hanging
- Assist with plumbing, electrical work, masonry tasks, and metal stud framing to support comprehensive project completion
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials while ensuring safety standards are met at all times
- Proven experience in construction estimating, blueprint reading, and schematic interpretation
- Hands-on experience with trim carpentry, framing carpentry, drywall finishing, and cabinetry installation
- Skilled in the use of hand tools (saws, hammers, chisels) and power tools (drills, sanders) for various carpentry tasks
- Familiarity with construction site safety procedures and OSHA regulations
- Background in concrete forming, rebar installation, roofing systems, siding applications or related restoration projects preferred
- Experience working on diverse construction sites including remodeling projects or restoration industry environments
- Ability to lift heavy materials safely and perform heavy lifting tasks regularly
- Knowledge of schematics for electrical or plumbing systems is a plus but not mandatory
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to read technical drawings accurately
- Previous handyman experience or experience in manufacturing or assembly roles is advantageous
