Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Medium/Heavy Duty Driver to operate a variety of commercial vehicles, including trucks, buses, and specialized equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial driving, excellent communication skills, and the ability to safely transport goods or passengers across designated routes. Duties
- Safely operate various types of commercial vehicles such as box trucks, tractor-trailers, dump trucks, limousines, and flatbeds.
- Transport goods, equipment, or passengers to assigned destinations following established routes and schedules.
- Load and unload cargo using pallet jacks, forklifts, or manual methods while adhering to safety protocols.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance reports.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding schedules or issues during transit.
- Assist with warehouse operations when necessary, including moving inventory or equipment within the facility.
- Follow all traffic laws and safety procedures to ensure safe transportation at all times.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving, including shuttle driving, delivery routes, or freight hauling.
- Familiarity with operating various commercial vehicles such as box trucks, tractor-trailers, tankers, heavy haul equipment, or school buses.
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems for basic troubleshooting and maintenance awareness.
- Experience with forklift operation or pallet jacks is a plus.
- Background in warehouse logistics or yard jockey duties is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients.
- Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type (e.g., CDL license for tractor-trailers or heavy equipment).
- Ability to handle manual transmissions and operate specialized equipment like dump trucks or tow trucks is preferred. This role requires a dedicated professional committed to safety and efficiency in all aspects of commercial vehicle operation.
