What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable position at Ingram Readymix Inc?
An Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of Ingram Readymix, Inc. invoices to include coding, processing and research. In addition, the position is responsible for providing a high level of interaction to both internal and external individuals. The Accounts Payable Specialist will work in a fast paced/high volume environment and will be responsible daily bookkeeping and record keeping.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Managing accounts payable using accounting software and other programs
- Organizing and matching a high volume of delivery tickets and invoices daily.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with new and existing vendors
- Ensuring bills are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures
- Comparing purchase orders, prices, terms of payment and other charges
- Ability to complete basic clerk duties like bookkeeping and organizing files
- Codes such items as invoices, vouchers, expense reports, check requests, etc., with correct codes conforming to standard procedures to ensure proper entry into the financial system.
- Handles all vendor correspondence via phone or email
- Investigates and resolves problems associated with processing of invoices and purchase orders.
- May assist with batch check runs.
- Reconciles various accounts by identifying errors in posting or omissions by applying appropriate accounting standards.
- Process remittance information from checks, drafts and wire transfers for invoices provided by vendors, reviewing instructions accompanying items to determine proper disposition and crediting accounts in accordance with standard procedures.
- Receives, researches and resolves a variety of routine internal and external inquiries concerning account status, including communicating the resolution of discrepancies to appropriate persons.
- Files, maintains, and distributes accounting documents, records and reports.
- Performs other duties as required to support Accounting Department.

Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
Education:
- High school or equivalent (required)
- Previous experience within the construction supply trade (preferred)
Experience:
- At least 5 years of accounting or relevant experience
- Financial/bookkeeping software experience
- Keystone (preferred)
- 2 Years of experience with administration and clerical duties
