About the Opportunity:
Third Shift Hours: 10pm - 6am
We are looking for a Production Planning & Program Specialist to support manufacturing operations through effective production scheduling, order management, data analysis, and cross-functional coordination. This role works closely with production, engineering, logistics, quality, and other stakeholders to ensure orders move through the manufacturing process according to schedule and that delays or constraints are quickly identified and resolved.
The position combines hands-on production planning with program coordination and data analytics. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, using MES and business intelligence tools to manage priorities, analyze performance, and support data-driven decision-making.
What You Will Do:
- Track delayed production orders across multiple shops and drive actions to resolve issues and minimize schedule impact.
- Develop and adjust daily production schedules based on parts availability, capacity, priorities, and operational constraints.
- Manage restrictions within MES and coordinate the release of production orders based on work content and readiness.
- Coordinate and schedule orders for pre-series trials, part changeovers, engineering testing, and other special production requirements.
- Work cross-functionally with production, engineering, logistics, quality, and other stakeholders to identify and resolve production constraints.
- Develop and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards to provide visibility into production status, delays, performance, and key metrics.
- Write and maintain SQL queries to extract, analyze, and validate operational data.
- Develop Excel VBA macros to automate data extraction, processing, reporting, and recurring analytical activities.
- Support program planning by establishing timelines, milestones, priorities, and dependencies.
- Monitor program and production performance, identify deviations, and coordinate corrective actions.
- Facilitate regular status meetings and communicate priorities, risks, issues, and progress to key stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate program documentation, reports, schedules, action items, and performance metrics.
- Analyze operational trends and identify opportunities to improve production flow, reporting, quality, and overall efficiency.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and implementation of standardized processes.
What You Will Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related field.
- Experience in production planning, manufacturing operations, program coordination, order management, or a related function.
- Experience working with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) or similar production management systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify production constraints and drive issues toward resolution.
- Experience with Power BI and developing operational reports or dashboards.
- Working knowledge of SQL for data extraction and analysis.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with VBA/macros is strongly preferred.
- Ability to coordinate multiple priorities and work effectively across production, engineering, logistics, quality, and other functions.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and proactively follow issues through to resolution.
- Experience in automotive or high-volume manufacturing is preferred.
