What You Can Earn
- Earn up to $37.66 per hour based on experience and qualifications.

- Test, verify, and troubleshoot shipboard electrical systems to ensure proper operation across all phases of construction.
- Perform phoning, circuit continuity verification, and functional testing of power and lighting systems.
- Operate and interpret results from electrical test equipment, including voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, megohmmeters, power analyzers, and other diagnostic tools.
- Test and validate high‑voltage systems including 480V and 4160V power distribution equipment.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and verify the functionality of motor controls, transformers, power panels, switchboards, and PLC‑based control systems.
- Support testing of electronic and fiber‑optic systems such as radar, sonar, communications, propulsion, and navigation equipment.
- Read and interpret marine blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals to ensure accurate testing procedures.
- Work in active shipyard environments involving heights, confined spaces, and variable conditions.
- Follow safety procedures that meet — and often exceed — industry standards.

What You Bring
- Proven experience testing and troubleshooting shipboard or industrial electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings, and wiring diagrams
- Strong working knowledge of electrical diagnostic equipment and safe testing practices
- Reliability, teamwork, and commitment to high‑quality craftsmanship
- Familiarity with both standard and metric measurement systems
- Minimum 4 years of experience in the marine, shipyard, or industrial electrical field.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Ability to read and interpret marine drawings and/or blueprints utilizing both metric and standard measurements.
- Strong working knowledge of electrical test equipment, including:
– Ammeters
– Ohmmeters
– Power analyzers
– Megohmmeters
– Other diagnostic equipment
- Experience working with 480V and 4160V electrical systems.
- Knowledge of motor controls, power panels, transformers, PLCs, and switchboards.
