Job Description
With more than 11,000 employees, HII’s Ingalls Shipbuilding division is the largest manufacturing employer in Mississippi and a major contributor to the economic growth of Alabama. For nearly 85 years, we’ve designed, built and maintained amphibious ships, destroyers, and cutters for the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Coast Guard. The largest supplier of U.S. Navy surface combatants, we’re simultaneously building four classes of ships and have pioneered the development and production of technologically advanced, highly capable ships for the surface Navy fleet for decades. Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, CAD, CAM or ShipConstructor. Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, and prepares original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposal. Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning group such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications. Exclude classifications in which incumbents predominantly perform drafting assignments.

Basic Qualifications
Associate's degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 3 years' experience: High school diploma and 7 years of related experience.

- Knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Ship Constructor
- Proficient in using shipconstructor and AutoCAD, Navis work and Bluebeam
- Be able to develop manufacturing aids products for parts from 2-D drawings and or from Shipconstuctor model
- Experience in Hull Foundations
