Position Summary
The Patient Access Specialist will be responsible for pre-registering patients, assisting with scheduling, and handling inquiries related to services and billing. You will also serve as a vital liaison between patients and referring medical offices, ensuring strong communication and positive relationships to enhance the patient experience. Your role will involve advocating for patients and assisting with enrollment in drug replacement or co-pay assistance programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide an exceptional experience for patients and referring offices by being a positive and approachable resource.
- Collaborate with the central intake team to pre-register patients and ensure they understand the process at Infusion Specialists.
- Walk patients and referring offices through the process, highlighting benefits to both the patient and the referring practice.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with referring medical offices to foster a smooth referral process.
- Work alongside the local sales rep to strengthen relationships with referring practices.
- Ensure patients have a positive experience at Infusion Specialists and encourage feedback and reviews.
- Manage scheduling and appointments with patients to ensure they are seen promptly.
- Actively resolve any issues or concerns, working collaboratively with the internal team to find solutions.
- Enroll patients in co-pay assistance or drug replacement programs as necessary to ensure financial access to care.
Qualifications
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Previous experience in patient care, customer service, or a related field.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with patients, referring offices, and the internal team.
- Proven ability to provide outstanding customer service and handle sensitive patient information with care.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude and a high level of professionalism.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Comfortable using software such as a Practice Management System (PMS) or Electronic Medical Records (EMR) for scheduling, tracking, and documentation.
Education/Licensure/Technical Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience with medical billing, patient advocacy, or co-pay assistance programs is preferred.
- Ability to meet U.S. employment and eligibility requirements.
