We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Travel Nurse to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in various settings such as emergency rooms, intensive care units, medical-surgical wards, pediatric units, and outpatient clinics.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physiology evaluations, and medical history documentation.
- Administer medications, injections, IV therapies, and perform venipuncture with precision and adherence to safety protocols.
- Operate and manage electronic health records (EHR) systems and electronic medical records (EMR), ensuring accurate documentation of patient information.
- Respond effectively to medical emergencies by following established protocols such as CPR, AED operation, and acute care procedures.
- Maintain compliance with health regulations including HIPAA guidelines and nursing policy standards while safeguarding patient confidentiality.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs.
- Assist in patient education by communicating clearly about treatment procedures, medication administration, and post-discharge instructions.
- Support infection control measures and ensure adherence to hospital medicine standards across all assignments.
- Participate in ongoing training related to trauma center procedures, emergency medicine practices, or specialized fields such as pediatrics or geriatrics.
Qualifications
- Valid license from the State Board of Nursing with current registration in good standing.
- Proven experience working in Level I or Level II trauma centers; experience in emergency medicine highly preferred.
- Demonstrated competence in hospital medicine, medical-surgical nursing, ICU (including PICU) settings, or outpatient clinics.
- Knowledge of health regulations compliance including HIPAA and state Nursing Practice Acts.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems for accurate medical documentation and record management.
- Strong skills in patient assessment, vital signs monitoring, physiology knowledge, anatomy understanding, and medication administration.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), First Aid, and CPR required; additional certifications such as Geriatrics or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are advantageous.
- Ability to handle manual tasks such as IV insertion, venipuncture, and medical equipment operation safely and efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills for effective parent communication when applicable and interprofessional collaboration.
- Flexibility to adapt quickly to different clinical environments while maintaining high standards of care.
