Job Summary:
We are seeking a Bioprocess Research Associate - Downstream to support laboratory process development activities in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on laboratory experience and a strong background in downstream processing, supporting process development, optimization, and manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute laboratory experiments to support process development activities under the guidance of senior scientists.
- Perform downstream processing experiments, including centrifugation, filtration, and chromatography.
- Prepare buffers, media, and laboratory solutions following established procedures.
- Operate, clean, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment.
- Accurately document experimental procedures, observations, and results in laboratory notebooks and electronic systems.
- Analyze experimental data and prepare technical reports and presentations.
- Follow all laboratory safety, GMP, and quality procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support process development and technology transfer activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
- Hands-on laboratory experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences industry (academic or industry).
- Required experience with downstream processing techniques, including centrifugation, filtration, and chromatography.
- Experience preparing laboratory buffers and solutions.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with viral vectors, biologics, cell and gene therapy, vaccines, or protein purification.
- Familiarity with GMP/GLP laboratory practices and documentation.
- Experience supporting process development, scale-up, or manufacturing operations.
