Job Description –System Engineer - (Full-time)
Location Everett, Washington (Hybrid)- who can travel to the customer onsite whenever required. Preference should be given to local candidates or those within commuting distance
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced System Engineer to support the design, development, integration, certification, and sustainment of Flight Deck Systems for commercial aircraft programs. The engineer will be responsible for developing avionics system architectures, defining requirements, supporting certification activities, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams throughout the aircraft development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain flight deck avionics system architectures and functional designs.
- Identify the data that verifies each requirement, e.g. Sections in the SCD, Review supplier verification matrix, etc., and propose updates to the requirements and/or verification module attributes.
- Requirement verification and Validation engineer with good knowledge on System engineering
- Perform requirements decomposition from aircraft-level requirements to equipment-level specifications.
- Develop system block diagrams, interface control documents (ICDs), and system design descriptions.
- Support integration of avionics hardware and software into the flight deck architecture.
Flight Deck Systems Support
Design and integration of:
- Flight Management System (FMS), Autopilot and Flight Guidance System (AFDS), Electronic Flight Instrument System (EFIS), Crew Alerting System (EICAS), Head-Up Display (HUD), Multi-Function Displays (MFD), Navigation Systems (GPS, IRS, DME, VOR), Communication Systems (VHF, HF, SATCOM), Aircraft Information Management Systems, Data Loading and Maintenance Systems
Safety & Certification
- Develop ARP4754A compliant system development artifacts.
- Perform Functional Hazard Assessments (FHA).
- Support Preliminary System Safety Assessment (PSSA) and System Safety Assessment (SSA).
- Support compliance activities for: ARP4754A, DO-178C, DO-254, DO-160
Education
Bachelor's degree in: Aerospace Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering
Experience
- 5 years of avionics or flight deck systems engineering experience.
- Experience in Boeing or commercial aircraft programs.
- Experience developing system requirements and interface documentation.
Technical Skills
- Requirements Management Tools: DOORS
- Good Knowledge of ITRACS and PR process
- Experience on Flight Deck is an added advantage
