What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electro Mechanical Technician position at InfoStride?
Responsibilities
1. System Assembly & Integration (MUST)
● Perform physical and functional integration of complex hardware components.
● Develop and execute Integration Test Plans (ITPs) to ensure all modules
communicate correctly.
● Build and maintain hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test benches for rapid prototyping.
2. Debugging & Troubleshooting (Nice to have)
● Identify, root-cause, and resolve hardware-level bugs, signal integrity issues, and
power delivery failures.
● Work closely with the board design and firmware teams to “bring up” new boards and
validate low-level drivers.
● Utilize lab equipment (Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers) to
diagnose intermittent system failures.
3. Design Verification (DVT) (Strong nice to have)
● Perform rigorous validation testing against environmental, mechanical, and electrical
specifications.
● Document test results and provide feedback to the design teams to influence the
next hardware revision.
4. Documentation & Tooling
● Read wiring diagrams, interconnect maps, and assembly instructions.
5. Lab Support (MUST HAVE)
● Order supplies/equipment/tools.
● Manage rental equipment:
○ Monitor usage for optimal equipment return/lease termination.
○ Pack up and return equipment.
● Keep lab workspaces organized/clean and safe.
● Inventory/Shipping/ Receiving
● Qualifications
● BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field OR 5
years of experience.
● Lab Skills: Expert-level soldering (SMD), cable harness fabrication, and PCB
rework.
● Preferred Qualifications
● Adaptable: You thrive in the “grey area” between design and production.
● Meticulous: You know that “good enough” is the enemy of a reliable system.
● Communicative: You can explain a complex timing issue to a software engineer just
