EHS Intern

Job Title: EHS Intern

Pay Rate: $30/HR.

Duration: 6 months

Location: New Kensington, PA

Shift: Monday- Thursday: 7:30 am- 5 pm and Friday: 7:30 am- 12 pm

This position is for the Low- and medium-voltage motors, large drives, and the integrated motor-drive system division.

We are looking for an EHS Intern to support Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) activities at a manufacturing facility in New Kensington, PA. This role will focus on the day-to-day execution of EHS programs, including inspections, compliance support, and administration.

• Conduct routine EHS inspections, audits, and facility walkthroughs
• Track and manage corrective actions from audits and inspections
• Maintain an active floor presence and engage with employees on EHS topics
• Promote a positive safety culture through employee engagement
• Assist with incident documentation and tracking
• Assist with the development, implementation, and documentation of EHS programs
• Maintain EHS records, logs, and compliance documentation
• Support the preparation of regulatory reporting (environmental and safety)
• Assist with the preparation, coordination, and delivery of EHS training programs
• Help develop and distribute safety communications

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field
• 0–2 years of EHS experience (internships/co-ops acceptable)
• Basic understanding of OSHA/EPA/PADEP regulations
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Preferred:

• Manufacturing or industrial experience (internship or full-time)
• Exposure to ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 systems
