Job Title: Chemist
Pay Rate: $25 to $27/HR
Duration: 12 months
Location: Madison Heights, MI
We are looking for Lab Technician
Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of a Senior Technician or Chemist, the Lab Technician will be expected to perform the following functions with a high level of initiative and independence:
- Conduct sample testing of coatings characteristics on coated substrates using established procedures
- Evaluate, collect, and record data into software applications
- Operate physical and analytical testing equipment
- Document all necessary entries for quality (standard checks/verifications).
- Be responsible for general laboratory cleanup and other general lab duties as assigned
- Work effectively and efficiently on the major project teams
- Customer interfacing (communication, correspondence, etc.)
- Compliance and understanding of corporate standards (Safety, Housekeeping, Quality, etc.)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry with prior laboratory experience preferred
- Previous experience in an Analytical laboratory is highly desirable
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office products - Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to understand and follow directions with method testing and equipment usage/support
- Comfortable and able to work with toxic chemicals while following safe laboratory practices/protocols.
- The ability to stand while working in the laboratory throughout most of the day.
- Work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and perform task assignments with limited supervision
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry or in a technical field.
