Role: Data Engineer Experience with public-safety Records Management System (RMS)
Location: Vermont/ 100% remote from USA
Duration: 2- 4 months
Our client at Vermont is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to support data discovery, modeling, extraction, and transformation activities required for a successful migration from their current Records Management System (RMS) to a new RMS platform.
The Data Engineer must demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:
Advanced SQL with emphasis on complex SELECT statements, joins, subqueries, and transformation logic.
MySQL/MSSQL database architecture, and schema discovery.
Data modeling, normalization concepts, and reverse-engineering undocumented schema.
ETL methodology and preparing structured data for ingestion into third-party systems.
Experience with public-safety RMS, case-management, or similarly complex relational data structures (preferred).
Strong analytical and documentation skills with the ability to interpret incomplete or ambiguous legacy data.
Experience with ETL processing binary large objects, PDF, and other unstructured data.
