Role Description
We are hiring a System Engineer - Level II with strong experience energy, utility, and mining operations. This role focuses on OT data engineering, industrial analytics, and Python-based enablement of advanced use cases including Generative AI and Agentic AI.
You will work at the intersection of SCADA, DCS, PLC systems, enterprise IT, and analytics teams to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable industrial data infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support AVEVA PI Data Archive, PI Asset Framework (AF), and PI Vision
- Design asset-centric AF hierarchies and templates for plants, substations, processing facilities, and fleets
- Configure and maintain PI Interfaces and Connectors (OPC DA, OPC UA, Modbus, RDBMS, APIs)
- Integrate OT data from SCADA, DCS, PLC, EMS, and fleet systems
- Develop PI Vision dashboards for operations, reliability, maintenance, and leadership
- Use Python (PI Web API / AF SDK) for data extraction, analytics, and automation
- Enable industrial analytics, predictive maintenance, and AI use cases by delivering contextualized OT data
- Support Generative AI copilots and agent-based workflows with secure, governed data access
- Perform system upgrades, performance tuning, security configuration, backups, and HA/DR support
- Provide Level 2 support and maintain technical documentation
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Computer, Instrumentation, Automation, or related)
- 3–6 years of hands-on experience with AVEVA PI System / OSIsoft PI
- Experience in energy, utilities, mining, oil & gas, or heavy industrial environments
- Strong knowledge of: PI Data Archive, PI AF, PI Vision, OPC DA / OPC UA
- Industrial OT systems (SCADA, DCS, PLC)
- Working experience with Python for industrial data analytics
- Windows Server and basic SQL knowledge
- Have experience in working as Industrial Data Engineer or OT Systems Engineer
- Hands on experience with AF Modeling, CONNECT
- Industrial AI / GenAI / AI Copilot
- Agentic AI workflows (human-in-the-loop)
- Power BI, Cloud (Azure/AWS), Data Lakes
- OT Cybersecurity, NERC CIP, ISA/IEC 62443
- AVEVA PI Certification would be plus to have
