Responsibilities
- Lead the daily operations of the daycare center, ensuring compliance with licensing regulations and safety standards.
- Supervise and support teaching staff, providing guidance on classroom management, child development instruction, and behavior management techniques.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that promote childhood development, preschool readiness, and social-emotional skills.
- Maintain open communication with parents and guardians, addressing concerns, providing updates on children’s progress, and fostering strong partnerships.
- Ensure all staff are trained in first aid, pediatric first aid, CPR, mandated reporting laws, and other health and safety protocols.
- Oversee child supervision to guarantee a safe environment for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and children with special needs or disabilities.
- Manage administrative tasks such as enrollment processes, staff scheduling, record keeping, and compliance documentation.
Skills
- Extensive experience working with children across various age groups including infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and children with disabilities.
- Strong classroom experience in early childhood education settings with demonstrated classroom management skills.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management strategies, and caregiving best practices.
- Ability to lead a team effectively while fostering a positive work environment focused on teamwork and professional growth.
- Excellent parent communication skills to build trust and ensure transparency about children’s progress and center policies.
- Certification in first aid, CPR (including pediatric first aid), and knowledge of mandated reporting laws are required; additional certifications in special education or child development instruction are a plus.
- Experience working within daycare center environments or similar childcare settings is highly preferred.
