- Training: Monday–Friday, 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM (First few weeks)
- Regular Shift: Monday–Friday, 4:00 PM – 1:00 AM (1-hour unpaid break)
- 40 hours/week
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist III to join the People Support team at Cummins in Whitakers, NC. This is an onsite opportunity supporting 3rd shift HR operations. This role is being introduced as a pilot program to provide HR support during overnight operations, with the potential for contract extension based on business needs and performance.
The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, can work independently, and is comfortable handling sensitive employee matters while partnering with managers across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day employee relations support for 3rd shift employees.
- Investigate and resolve employee relations concerns while maintaining confidentiality.
- Counsel, coach, and advise managers on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for HR policies and compliance.
- Develop, maintain, and improve HR processes and documentation.
- Manage and respond to HR requests through the ServiceNow ticketing system.
- Build strong working relationships with employees and leadership.
- Support various HR initiatives and projects as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and employment regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a related field.
- Strong foundational knowledge of Human Resources principles and practices.
- Experience handling employee relations matters.
- Ability to influence, coach, and guide managers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience managing confidential and sensitive information.
- Comfortable working with diverse personalities in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience using ServiceNow or similar HR ticketing systems.
- Previous experience supporting manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Process improvement experience.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
