Role: Enterprise Architect Consultant
🚨 MUST HAVE: Experience in the Healthcare / Health Plan domain is required. Candidates without healthcare industry experience will not be considered.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Business Technology Strategy
- Develop and maintain the overall Business technology strategy and roadmaps.
- Identify emerging technologies, trends, and industry best practices to proactively advance capabilities.
Enterprise Architecture
- Collaborate with cross functional teams and lead, develop and maintain target state architecture, reference architecture and Business technology roadmaps for assigned domains.
- Conduct periodic reviews of the current state architecture and identify potential areas of improvements.
- Work closely with business and technology stakeholders to ensure that all initiatives and projects for the domain align with the Enterprise architecture that was built to realize the company's vision and goals.
- Actively research and understand emerging Technologies and how they can be applied to healthcare insurance, including industry trends and best practices.
- Participate in the selection, implementation, and maintenance of tools and processes that support the effective delivery of Enterprise Architecture services.
Governance
- Contribute to the management of EA governance frameworks including Architecture Review Board and other technology governance efforts.
- Develop technology standards, exception process and manage technology lifecycle and obsolescence risk management.
Vendor Management
- Understand vendor capabilities and stay current on vendor roadmaps.
- Support in development and evaluation of RFP/RFQ process.
- Support vendor contract negotiations and renewals.
Leadership
- Promote the value of Enterprise Architecture to all levels of the organization, spreading awareness about the role in achieving strategic objectives.
- Coach and mentor other Architects in the team and foster a culture of collaboration and innovation.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- B.S. or higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS or equivalent preferred.
- 3 years of relevant overall experience in Enterprise Architecture, strategy, and governance roles.
- Proven experience in defining, developing and implementing target state architecture and technology roadmaps.
- Strong understanding of Enterprise Architecture principles, frameworks and methodologies such as TOGAF, Zachman, etc.
- Experience using architecture modeling tools and constructs.
- Experience with briefing senior leadership teams.
- Good knowledge about Health Plan domain and Clinical data (preferred).
Technical Proficiency
- Advanced knowledge in technical infrastructure and cloud solutions (AWS, Azure).
- In-depth knowledge of complex architecture patterns including Microservices, Container platforms, APIs, Data Engineering platforms, Data Lake, Cloud Data Warehousing, and Robotic Process Automation.
- Conversant with cybersecurity concepts.
- Familiar with Agile and DevOps framework.
- Experience with Enterprise Architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, etc.).
Leadership Skills
- Proven ability to develop and execute technology strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to mentor, motivate, and lead junior team members.
- A self-starter with strong consulting, communication, and influencing skills.
Communication & Collaboration
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex Business and Technology concepts to stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
Certifications
- Certifications in relevant areas (TOGAF, PMP, Cloud Architecture) are preferred.
- Experience with IT governance and risk management frameworks and standards (ITIL, COBIT) is a plus.
