Data Architect Denodo & MPP Systems

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Architect with strong expertise in Denodo and Massively Parallel Processing (MPP) systems. The ideal candidate will have 10 years of experience in Data Architecture and 5 years of hands-on experience in Denodo and MPP platforms. This role focuses on driving performance optimization, architecting scalable solutions, and aligning data virtualization strategies with business SLAs and cost goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, and optimization of Denodo-based data virtualization solutions.

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex Denodo performance issues, including query tuning, caching strategies, and pushdown optimization.

• Develop performance-optimized caching strategies and architectural best practices.

• Architect and implement scalable data solutions across MPP systems such as Snowflake, Redshift, Synapse, or BigQuery.

• Create and maintain architectural roadmaps, documentation, and governance frameworks.

• Conduct performance benchmarking, capacity planning, and cost optimization across data platforms.

• Ensure robust API hosting strategies outside Denodo where required.

• Oversee data lineage, metadata management, credential management, and security controls.

• Lead disaster recovery planning, high availability design, and environment optimization.

• Evaluate and implement Denodo 9 enhancements to improve existing architecture and processes.

• Guide development teams with best practices on data modeling, SQL tuning, and distributed query planning.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions meet business SLAs, performance KPIs, and architectural standards.

Required Qualifications

• 10 years of experience in Data Architecture and enterprise data solutions.

• 5 years of hands-on experience with Denodo, including advanced configuration and performance tuning.

• Strong expertise with MPP databases such as:

  • Snowflake

  • Amazon Redshift

  • Azure Synapse

  • Google BigQuery

• Deep understanding of Denodo architecture, data virtualization principles, and caching techniques.

• Strong SQL skills with proven experience in query optimization, data modeling, and performance tuning.

• Experience with cloud platforms, especially Azure (preferred), AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.

• Expertise in query pushdown optimization, distributed query strategies, and workload management.

• Hands-on experience with large-scale data integration, data pipelines, and API connectivity.

Preferred Qualifications

• Denodo Certified Architect (highly preferred).

• Certifications in Snowflake, Redshift, Synapse, or BigQuery.

• Experience with performance benchmarking tools and monitoring solutions.

• Familiarity with data governance, lineage tracking, DR strategies, and metadata management.

• Experience applying Denodo 9 new features to streamline existing processes.
