Position Overview
The Lead Water Process Engineer plays a critical role in developing and delivering next-generation processes that support Infinium’s mission of enabling sustainable, low-carbon operations. This role leads the design, implementation, and optimization of water systems and water treatment in gas conversion process plants.

Key Responsibilities
Project Engineering & Technical Leadership
  • Lead the design, development, and optimization of water process systems, including feedwater, condensate, wastewater, water treatment and other water systems across industrial applications.
  • Manage and optimize process design considering fluid dynamics, water chemistry, thermal stress, mechanical loadings, phase change, and other relevant operating conditions.
  • Consider preventive engineering to reduce exposure to issues such as fouling, corrosion, erosion, thermal stress, vibration, pitting, etc.
  • Integrate multi-stage treatment technologies into cohesive, high-performing process platforms.
  • Drive the technical vision behind modular and scalable treatment solutions that support current and future Infinium projects.
  • Develop detailed process models, equipment specifications, P&IDs, control strategies, and performance metrics.
  • Prioritize safety as well as energy and water efficiency.
 Technology Integration & Innovation
  • Evaluate and implement emerging technologies to increase efficiency, reduce energy use, and enhance water reuse capabilities.
  • Engage with vendors to understand technology offerings and applicability to the project including vendor evaluations on a cost basis
Plant Operations, QA/QC & Supply Chain
  • Implement monitoring systems to track key parameters such as temperature, pressure, flow, vibration, water chemistry, fouling, scaling, corrosion, turbidity, etc. Regularly analyze the data to identify any deviations or trends that may indicate potential points of failure.
  • Evaluate systems and components for compliance with design standards, regulatory requirements, and performance expectations.
  • Assist in operator training appropriate to water systems.
Operations Support & Optimization
  • Optimize treatment performance, identify operational bottlenecks, and implement process improvements to enhance system reliability.
  • Provide technical support during startup, troubleshooting, and ongoing operations across multiple projects.
Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, construction teams, and utility partners to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Support strategic growth initiatives by expanding Infinium’s technical capabilities and strengthening the project portfolio.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 10–15 years of experience in process water system design and chemistry.
  • Hands-on experience with advanced treatment technologies.
  • Expert water system design, fluid dynamics, phase change and water chemistry.
  • Understanding of national and Texas industrial waste regulatory requirements (or ability and desire to learn quickly)
  • Familiarity with industrial boiler feedwater treatment systems is a plus
  • Experience with modular system design, fabrication, commissioning, and field operations.
  • Familiarity with renewable energy technologies, and energy-efficient facility design a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to guide cross-functional engineering and operations teams.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
