Lead Process Design Chemical Engineer - Boyertown, PA

Location: Boyertown, PA, with hybrid flexibility available for candidates within approximately one hour of the office.

Compensation: $198,000–$229,000/year, based on experience, plus health insurance and 401(k)

PROCESS is hiring a senior process engineer to join our Boyertown office with a defined path to lead it. This is a succession plan, not a standard staff opening. You'll report to the current Office/Business Unit Manager, and your early focus is straightforward: perform technical project assignments correctly and build strong client and project-team relationships. Our goal is to have you leading the office within about a year, though the exact timeline depends on how quickly things click. You'll eventually oversee the office's 10 technical staff, along with local marketing, project execution and oversight, and manpower planning.

Recent examples of the kind of work you'd own here: leading FEED and safety review work that a national laboratory's final design review committee returned with zero recommendations, a rare outcome their team said wouldn't have happened without our engineer's support. That's the caliber of technical ownership this role carries, not entry-level scope with a senior title attached.

• Develop FEED packages, PFDs, HMBs, P&IDs, and equipment specifications for clients across a range of industrial markets
• Provide on-site support for capital project execution with Northeast clients, with occasional travel to other PROCESS offices or client sites nationally
• Take on process safety work as needed — PHAs, LOPAs, DHAs, and PSI documentation aligned with OSHA and EPA standards
• Own client relationships directly: scope conversations, issue resolution, and project outcomes
• Mentor engineers on the Boyertown team as you step into the group lead role

• B.S. in Chemical Engineering from an accredited university
• 10 years of process engineering and design experience — hands-on ownership of FEED packages and equipment specs, not adjacent exposure to them
• Experience leading client conversations directly, not just executing scope someone else defined
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• A plus, but not required: simulation experience, project management experience, an advanced degree, or professional registration

Based out of our Boyertown, PA office, about 45 minutes from Philadelphia. A hybrid in-office/remote arrangement from the Allentown area works well for this role. Some relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.
