Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot low voltage systems such as cameras, access control, fiber optic cabling, VoIP telephony, Ethernet networks, and data cabling (Cat5, Cat6).
- Perform fiber splicing and termination to ensure optimal network performance across various infrastructures.
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately execute installations and repairs.
- Conduct field service visits to diagnose issues with telecommunication equipment, network hardware, or electrical components, providing prompt solutions.
- Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, service reports, and inspection logs for compliance and future reference.
- Use hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and testing equipment to perform precise measurements and equipment repairs.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure projects meet safety standards such as NEC (National Electrical Code) requirements while adhering to industry best practices.
Skills:
- Proven experience with Camera systems installation and troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including LAN/WAN architecture, Ethernet cabling (Cat5/Cat6), routers, and network protocols such as TCP/IP.
- Familiarity with telecommunication systems telephony platforms and VoIP technology.
- Ability to read schematics accurately and work from technical diagrams or blueprints.
- Skilled in fiber splicing techniques for high-speed data transmission setups.
- Experience with equipment repair involving low voltage electrical components and power tools.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on clear communication and professionalism during field service visits.
- Knowledge of NEC electrical standards applicable to low voltage installations in commercial or industrial environments.
- Hands-on experience with computer hardware setup and maintenance within data centers or server rooms is a plus.
