Merit Technologies / SmartBiz Services is looking for a Full-Time Low Voltage Technician who will provide management of daily activities using their technical resources to meet the operational needs of the company. In this role you will be responsible for the repair, replacement, labeling, installation, and troubleshooting of copper wiring, fiber wiring, UPS units, PDU units, and pathways that make up the infrastructure. There is a strong opportunity to grow with the company, professionally and financially.
Job Duties:
- Working under our PM or Director of ICT to complete commercial and industrial jobs
- Complete project tasks
- Troubleshooting connection issues within and between locations
- Work within the ticketing system to update statuses on active work
- Installing, moving, and removing devices.
- Managing inventory
- Installing, testing, moving, labeling, and removing copper and fiber cabling.
- Provide feedback on work prioritization
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Experience in working with copper and/or fiber
- A minimum of one year working in structured cabling
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure
- Detail orientated
- Willingness to work within a close team
