Duties
- Weekend hours 12p-5pm SATURDAY AND SUNDAY
- Provide peer-led support to individuals experiencing mental health or substance use issues through one-on-one mentoring and group sessions.
- Utilize crisis intervention techniques to de-escalate situations and ensure safety for clients and staff.
- Assist clients in developing coping strategies, goal-setting, and recovery plans aligned with their personal needs.
- Document interactions, progress notes, and service activities accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Collaborate with clinical teams to coordinate care, share insights from lived experience, and support treatment plans.
- Conduct motivational interviewing to foster motivation for change and reinforce positive behaviors.
- Offer guidance on navigating social services, community resources, addiction counseling options, and behavioral health programs.
Qualifications
- Must be a Certified Peer Support Specialist
- Demonstrated lived experience with mental health recovery or substance use recovery; certification as a peer specialist is preferred but not required.
- Strong skills in crisis management and crisis intervention techniques.
- Knowledge of behavioral health concepts, mental health counseling principles, and addiction counseling strategies.
- Experience in mentoring or social work environments that support behavioral health initiatives.
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation purposes.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and build rapport with diverse populations.
