Duties
- Provide peer-led support to individuals experiencing mental health crises, addiction struggles, or behavioral health challenges with enthusiasm and empathy.
- Conduct crisis intervention and crisis management to de-escalate situations and ensure safety for clients and staff.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to encourage positive behavioral change and recovery goals.
- Assist clients with navigating behavioral health services, including referrals and resource connections.
- Document interactions accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems while maintaining confidentiality and compliance standards.
- Mentor clients through shared lived experiences, fostering hope and resilience during their recovery journey.
- Support team efforts by participating in case planning, team meetings, and ongoing training to enhance service delivery.
Skills
- Strong background in behavioral health or mental health counseling with an understanding of addiction counseling principles.
