The Laborer/Crew Member supports field operations by performing physical tasks on construction and electrical job sites, assisting crews, maintaining safe work areas, and supporting equipment and material movement. This is an entry-level role with strong growth potential for individuals interested in building a long-term career in the construction and electrical industry.
Primary Responsibilities
- Clean and prepare construction sites by removing debris and identifying potential hazards
- Identify underground utilities and monitor digging activities to prevent utility strikes
- Restock trucks and job sites with tools, materials, and supplies
- Signal equipment operator- assist with alignment, movement, and placement of machinery and materials
- Control and direct traffic around work zones as needed
- Dig trenches and ditches; backfill, compact, and level earth to grade specifications using hand and power tools
- Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and job site rules
- Work cooperatively with crew members and accept directions from supervisors
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid Driver’s License required
- High school diploma or GED required (technical or community college preferred)
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen
- Ability to work 40 hours per week and overtime as needed
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work, including overhead work
- Ability to stand for extended periods and climb stairs or ladders
