The company is deeply grateful for this recognition and remains committed to creating an environment where every team member feels valued and empowered to succeed.We are seeking a detail-oriented Civil Inspector to support construction oversight on New York City Transit (NYCT) and MTA Capital Construction projects. The Civil Inspector will ensure that all civil and structural work complies with contract documents, applicable codes, and MTA standards. This role is critical to maintaining safety, quality, and regulatory compliance across active transit infrastructure projects.Role & Responsibilities: Conduct daily field inspections of civil and structural work, including concrete, steel, excavation, utilities, and finishes.Verify contractor compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and NYC/MTA codes.Monitor construction activities for adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations.Document inspection findings, prepare daily reports, and maintain accurate field records.Identify and report non-conforming work; assist in resolution and corrective actions.Coordinate with Resident Engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely issue resolution.Review and verify materials delivered to the site for compliance with approved submittals.Attend progress meetings and provide technical input as needed..Skills, Education, and Experience Qualifications:Minimum 5 years of experience in civil inspection on infrastructure or transit projects.Familiarity with MTA/NYCT construction standards and procedures.Strong knowledge of NYC Building Code, ACI, ASTM, and other relevant standards.NICET Level II or higher certification in Civil Construction preferred.OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Certification required.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in field reporting tools and Microsoft Office Suite.Preferred Experience:Prior work on MTA, NYCT, LIRR, or Metro-North projects.Experience with tunnel, station, or track infrastructure.Knowledge of CMU, rebar placement, waterproofing, and concrete testing procedures.Benefits provided but not limited to the following:Medical DentalVision 401k with 4% match Short Term and Long-Term Disability Life Insurance Paid Time Off (PTO & Sick Time)Company Holidays Great company culture that genuinely cares!
