This role is responsible for resolving data discrepancies—such as duplicate records and bad merges—and supporting healthcare providers, public health agencies, and internal stakeholders in ensuring high-quality immunization data.
General Description
The Immunization Helpdesk Analyst ensures accurate and reliable immunization records within the IIS by investigating data integrity issues, providing user support, and collaborating with technical and public health teams. This position plays a key role in maintaining the quality, usability, and consistency of immunization data across the system.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Respond to inquiries from healthcare providers, public health agencies, and internal staff regarding immunization records and system functionality.
- Investigate and resolve duplicate patient records, bad merges, and other data integrity issues in the immunization registry.
- Use data tools, matching algorithms, and record linkage techniques to identify and correct data discrepancies.
- Escalate complex data issues to technical teams or data stewards when necessary.
- Document all support interactions in the ticketing system and maintain detailed, accurate logs.
- Provide guidance to users on best practices for data entry, record management, and maintaining data quality.
- Collaborate with IT, data quality teams, and other stakeholders to enhance deduplication processes and system performance.
- Assist in monitoring and improving internal data quality metrics.
- Participate in testing system updates, new features, and enhancements.
- Generate reports on data quality trends and contribute to developing user training materials.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Information Technology, Public Health, or a related field.
- 4.5 years of experience in a helpdesk, data quality, or healthcare IT support role.
- 4.5 years of experience with deduplication tools, data matching, or record linkage techniques.
- Familiarity with Immunization Information Systems (IIS).
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong customer service orientation.
Desired Skills
- Experience using ticketing systems such as ServiceNow.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of HL7 messaging and public health data standards.
- Experience working with state or local public health departments.
Understanding of HIPAA regulations and data privacy requirements
