Supplier Quality Engineer (AS9100)
$90,000–$115,000 DOE | Full-Time | Leadership Opportunity
A growing aerospace manufacturer is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced quality professional who enjoys working with suppliers, engineering, and manufacturing while helping drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.
This position offers the opportunity to lead a small team of 2 direct reports. Previous leadership experience is not required—we're looking for someone who has the desire and aptitude to grow into a leadership role.
What You'll Do
- Manage supplier quality activities and ensure compliance with AS9100 standards.
- Conduct supplier audits, process audits, and quality system assessments.
- Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing to resolve supplier quality issues.
- Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions (CAPA, SCAR, NCR).
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and quality documentation.
- Support product design reviews and collaborate with engineering to improve manufacturability and quality.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the supplier base.
- Mentor and support a team of 2 direct reports.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required (Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline preferred).
- Experience working in an AS9100-certified manufacturing environment.
- Supplier Quality Engineer or Quality Engineer experience.
- Strong understanding of supplier audits, quality systems, and corrective actions.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, blueprints, and interpret GD&T.
- Experience working with quality documentation including FAIRs (AS9102), PPAP, CAPA, SCAR, and NCRs.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Mechanical or Industrial Engineering degree.
- Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience.
- Experience supporting product design or working closely with engineering teams.
- Previous leadership experience is a plus, but not required. We're looking for someone who wants the opportunity to lead and develop a small team.
