Position Summary
The Master HVACR Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of industrial refrigeration systems, including projects that use ammonia as a refrigerant. This role ensures the safe and efficient operation of refrigeration equipment, maintains compliance with safety regulations, and provides technical expertise to clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot refrigeration equipment
- Conduct routine inspections and perform preventive maintenance
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and diagnose refrigeration system issues
- Use specialized tools and equipment to repair or replace defective components
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used
- Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with clients and management
- Participate in training and professional development to enhance technical skills and industry knowledge
Qualifications
- Valid Master HVACR License in the state of New Jersey
- Working knowledge of ammonia, Freon, and CO2 systems, including applicable safety regulations
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to client sites
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry equipment and supplies up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights
- Ability to work in cold temperatures and wear required personal protective equipment
- Ability to climb ladders, use power tools, and perform manual labor
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and work in a variety of environments
