Industrial Ladder & Supply has been family-owned and operated since 1975. Over the past 50 years, we have grown to become one of America’s largest and most respected distributors of ladders, scaffolding, safety equipment, and truck and van equipment.
We serve customers throughout the eastern United States from our seven distribution centers and pride ourselves on providing dependable products, knowledgeable service, and a great customer experience. Today, three generations of our family are involved in operating the company.
Position Overview
We are looking for a dependable, hardworking Operations Associate to join our New Jersey team.
This is a hands-on operations position with primary responsibilities in the warehouse, deliveries, and truck and van equipment installations.
The Operations Associate will assist with deliveries as needed while also working in the warehouse and learning to support equipment installations. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys variety, is willing to learn, and is comfortable helping wherever needed to keep day-to-day branch operations running smoothly.
The Employee will also be trained to assist customers at the front counter and learn basic inside sales responsibilities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day warehouse operations, including receiving, organizing, picking, and preparing customer orders
- Load and unload company vehicles and incoming shipments
- Make local and regional customer deliveries using company vehicles
- Ensure products are properly secured and delivered safely and professionally
- Assist with truck and van equipment installations
- Learn proper installation procedures and company quality standards
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse and work area
- Assist with inventory organization and product movement
- Help process inbound and outbound orders
- Provide friendly and professional customer service when interacting with customers during deliveries and at the branch
- Assist at the front counter as needed
- Learn company products, systems, and processes
- Over time, learn basic inside sales and customer support responsibilities to provide branch coverage when needed
- Assist other team members with daily branch operations as needed
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is dependable, hands-on, and willing to learn different areas of the business. You should be comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team.
The right candidate will have:
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability and willingness to perform physical, hands-on work
- Ability to safely lift 50 pounds
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn truck and van equipment installation
- Comfort driving a company vehicle and making customer deliveries
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment
- Willingness to learn our products and eventually assist with front counter and inside sales responsibilities
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, internet browsing, and/or Google Workspace
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Previous warehouse, delivery, installation, construction, automotive, or customer service experience is a plus
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, but not required
