Position: Construction Estimator
Direct Supervisor: Project Manager, Construction Services
Position Overview:
Our construction division is seeking an experienced estimator to become an integral part of our estimating team. The role involves preparing and pulling together cost estimates for public and private bids including civil, foundation, electrical, room buildouts tower builds, etc.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend site walks and pre-bid meetings to collect required information and in some cases work with customers to determine the scope of work to be able to estimate projects
- Review requirement documents, blueprints, and project plans to fully understand project scope
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for each project covering labor, materials, permits, specialized equipment, and subcontracted work
- Work on multiple bids simultaneously and deliver in accordance with deadline objectives
- Define trade-specific scopes and prepare bid packages
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors to obtain quotes and negotiate pricing
- Present estimates to management and other stakeholders
- Compile and track actual project costs
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure a smooth transition through the project life cycle
Qualifications:
- Commercial civil, building, and electrical construction estimating experience
- Project management experience is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field, or equivalent experience in commercial construction estimating
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously under deadlines
- Familiarity with public bidding, DCAMM, and prevailing wage is a plus
- Ability to obtain OSHA-10
- Construction Supervisor License is a plus
Salary: $80,000 - $90,000
Location: On-site in Marshfield, MA office
