POSITION SUMMARY:
This DC Power Professional is a strategic scout, focused on identifying, developing, and closing PowerCare opportunities, including PC Platinum, with end users of motive power equipment. This role plays a key part in IBP’s strategic growth strategy by expanding our footprint within new and dormant accounts.
Assigned to a specific branch and responsible for its entire geographic footprint, this role engages directly with prospective customers to generate activity, close sales, and contribute to recurring service growth through PowerCare offerings.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Scouting & Opportunity Identification
Proactively survey the market to uncover potential PowerCare opportunities:
- Identify and pursue Dormant IBP accounts, defined as accounts with no PC Platinum or PowerCare activity in 24 months.
- Recapture accounts lost to competitors
. - Secure new end-user accounts.
- Conduct account research to understand potential needs and strategic fit for PowerCare services.
- This may include site visits, battery surveys, reviewing equipment conditions, evaluating usage patterns, and assessing facility layout or infrastructure constraints.
- Review CRM and ERP systems to confirm account status and avoid targeting active accounts.
Engagement & Relationship Cultivation
Introduce IBP and PowerCare offerings to targeted accounts through:
- Phone outreach; Email campaigns; Face-to-face visits.
- Serve as a trusted resource and first impression of IBP, capable of warming up cold leads with a calm, confident, and value-driven approach.
- Use consultative conversation to seed interest, ask insightful questions, and begin shaping opportunity narrative.
Sales & Account Management
- Own the full sales cycle from prospecting through quoting to closing for PC Platinum and PowerCare
.. - Input, track, and update all activities, quotes, and opportunities in CRM and ERP systems.
- Prepare and present proposals aligned with IBP’s service capabilities and pricing guidance.
Internal Collaboration
- Coordinate with Branch Operations Managers to confirm service capacity and gain necessary quote approvals.
- When leads involve sales other than PC Platinum or PowerCare
, collaborate with the DC Power Professional and transition those opportunities accordingly. - Maintain ongoing communication with internal teams to ensure expectations are aligned before and after the sale.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Background in Motive Power, Material Handling, or related Sales Experience.
- Intermediate user in Microsoft Suite.
- Familiarity with CRM and ERP systems to review account history, input opportunities, and manage sales activity.
- Organized, self-driven, and comfortable managing multiple touchpoints.
- Strong interpersonal, listening, and communication skills—able to build trust quickly and communicate effectively across CRM, phone, email, and in-person interactions.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear—both in person and by phone.
- This role involves frequent field work, including site walks at customer locations and warehouse environments. Tasks may include operating powered industrial trucks (PIT), performing battery surveys, and handling equipment.
- The employee must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds and work safely around industrial equipment and electrical systems.
