The Role
We’re growing our outside sales team and looking for a proven “hunter” who lives in the Dalton/Chattanooga area and is passionate about industrial automation. This is a classic road-warrior position focused primarily on new business development while nurturing and expanding key existing accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Aggressive daily prospecting via cold calling, LinkedIn outreach and targeted vertical marketing campaigns
- Identify and develop new opportunities with OEMs, system integrators, MRO buyers, and end-users
- Conduct regular on-site customer visits, lunch-and-learns, product demonstrations, and solution-based presentations
- Collaborate closely with inside sales and application engineering teams to create compelling quotes and technical proposals
- Own the full sales cycle: lead generation → needs analysis → solution design → negotiation → close
- Consistently meet and exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date CRM records (HubSpot) and deliver weekly pipeline reports
What You Bring
- Proven, documented outside B2B technical sales success (industrial automation, controls, robotics, motors/drives, or electrical distribution strongly preferred)
- Strong technical aptitude
- Consistent track record of hitting or exceeding quota (top 20% performers only)
- True hunter mentality with exceptional cold-calling, prospecting, and closing skills
- Existing relationships with OEMs, integrators, or end-users in northwest Georgia / southeast Tennessee is a significant advantage
- Highly self-motivated, organized, and able to thrive independently
- Clean driving record and willingness to travel 70–80% within the territory
