What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Writer position at INDRA AIR TRAFFIC INC?
Responsibilities:
- Develop and edit technical proposal documents that align with prospective customer’s technical requirements and business goals.
- Work with the sales team, technical subject matter experts (SMEs) and project delivery and operations personnel to develop clear, organized, compliant, and easy-to-read technical proposal content.
- Develop basic understanding of our solutions and market (“domain knowledge”) to be able to process technical information and generate content independently and/or in collaboration with SMEs.
- Read the request for proposals (RFP) and work with the sales lead and bid manager to determine the technical proposal concept and structure/ organization by analyzing customer requirements and needs, and RFP compliance limitations.
- Work with the sales lead and bid manager to meet proposal deadlines by establishing priorities and target dates for information collection, writing, review, and approvals.
- Identify and synthesize existing source material and pre-write as much as possible by adapting “boilerplate” text, prior to turning each section or document deliverable over to SMEs for adding/completing content.
- Identify the need for and conceptualize infographics, then assign to relevant to SMEs.
- Continuously track content created by the assigned SMEs for RFP compliance, quality, and consistency between sections; collaborate with SMEs on getting each section (text and infographics) updated and completed.
- Incorporate edits in response reviewer comments while updating/improving content with SMEs.
- Format, align and edit the technical proposal document(s) for compliance, cohesive flow, logical organization, as well as other professional writing standards, including readability, grammar/punctuation, style, consistency, and tone.
- Contribute technical proposal status information to status review meetings.
- Ensure that content includes the win theme, discriminators, technical/management features and benefits.
- Prepare the technical proposal document and auxiliary document deliverables for production.
- Help Bid Manager with production (digital and sometimes print).
- Help continuously improve content quality and proposal efficiency by using/updating templates and the style guide and maintaining proposal content (text/infographics) databases.
Qualifications:
- Technical Writing Degree or Similar Preferred
- 3 years of experience in Technical Writing in information technology, systems integration, or engineering.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Word.
- Good organizational and collaborative skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
- U.S. citizen and U.S.-based.
- Samples of work required.
- Simple writing test may be required.
