About the Role
As a Radar Support Engineer, you will be part of a coordinated team of professionals responsible for supporting all radar systems deployed during the execution of a nationwide civil air traffic surveillance project. You will ensure the operational availability and reliability of advanced radar systems, providing both remote diagnostics and on-site corrective maintenance. This role is key to the deployment and replacement of approach and en-route surveillance radars across multiple locations throughout the United States.
You must be available to work in shifts and be ready to travel at short notice whenever on-site intervention is required to resolve incidents that cannot be solved remotely.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve technical incidents reported by users or operations teams for deployed radar systems PSR (NCSR), MSSR (CSR).
- Perform remote troubleshooting and, when necessary, travel to radar sites for corrective maintenance interventions.
- Document all actions taken, propose improvements to prevent recurrence of incidents, and maintain accurate maintenance records.
- Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to efficiently resolve complex issues.
- Ensure radar systems meet required availability and performance standards as specified by clients.
- Coordinate support activities in parallel across multiple sites, adapting to project schedules and operational needs.
- Work as part of a coordinated team providing support to all deployed systems during the project.
Competencies
- Strong technical knowledge of radar systems and air traffic surveillance technologies.
- Practical experience in operational environments (airports, air surveillance stations, civil or military installations).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills for technical reporting and client interaction.
- Organizational skills to manage activities at multiple locations simultaneously.
- Flexibility to work in shifts and readiness for urgent travel as required.
Reporting Line
- This position reports directly to the Project Manager and is responsible for coordinating support and maintenance activities across various deployment sites in parallel.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience in radar maintenance or air traffic surveillance systems is highly valued.
- Experience in remote troubleshooting and onsite troubleshooting/ maintenance interventions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field is required.
- Equivalent technical certifications and substantial relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Additional Valued Skills
- Experience with FAA or international air traffic surveillance standards.
- Familiarity with safety and quality procedures in critical infrastructure environments.
- Spanish language skills will be valued.
