About IPX Brooklyn

IPX Brooklyn is set to be the largest dedicated indoor pickleball facility in New York City. With 13 professional courts, a dedicated gym area, shower facilities, a party/event area, and a 3rd-party vendor service space, we aim to be the premier destination for pickleball enthusiasts in New York City. Our philosophy is simple: work, play, chill — a 24/7 home for NYC pickleballers, all year round. Affiliate with the successful IPX pickleball brand with locations in Texas and California, we are looking for passionate, community-driven people to join our team and help us build something the city has never seen before.

Position Overview: The Programming & Events Manager is the heart of the club’s community and athletic programming. Serving as the facility’s programming master, your major responsibility is to drive sales from programming, coaching, and special events. Your core focus is on exploration and design—identifying potential needs in the local market, exploring new opportunities, and designing a vibrant calendar of pickleball leagues, tournaments, clinics, and social events that capture new audiences. This role is designed as a Manager Track position, offering a unique opportunity for an ambitious leader to develop into a General Manager as IPX Brooklyn expands. Upon successful promotion to General Manager, the compensation structure will be re-evaluated to a competitive market rate.

Compensation & Structure: This is an hourly W-2 position compensated at $24.00 per hour. The role requires a full-time, fixed schedule of approximately 40-45 hours per week, yielding a predictable gross weekly pay of up to $1,080. We process payroll weekly to ensure reliable, timely compensation for our team. A meaningful performance bonus structure will be discussed and finalized during the hiring process.

Key Responsibilities: As the Programming & Events Manager, you will serve as the facility’s programming master, exploring local market opportunities to design and schedule a comprehensive calendar of pickleball programming, including leagues, round robins, tournaments, instructional clinics, and open play. You will develop the comprehensive coaching curriculum and ensure consistent instruction quality across all skill levels, recruiting, training, and managing a roster of 5 to 6 independent contractor (1099) pickleball coaches.

You will manage the dedicated Party/Events Area, coordinating all private parties and special events, and directing the Member Specialists who assist with event execution. Furthermore, you will oversee the “Player Advisor” program, acting as the primary liaison for our five volunteer community ambassadors to gather ground-level feedback on player satisfaction and unmet programming needs.

Alongside the Operations & Sales Manager, you will co-manage a team of four remote marketing contractors to promote all newly designed programs, clinics, and events to the broader market.

Qualifications: Candidates must have a minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in sports programming, coaching management, or event sales and design. A deep passion for and knowledge of pickleball is required. Proven experience in exploring market opportunities and developing successful athletic programs or events that drive new revenue and community engagement is essential. We are seeking individuals with excellent organizational and project management skills, as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with members, staff, and instructors. A Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Hospitality, or a related field is preferred.
