Summary:
Plan, direct, lead and coordinate the night operations of Individual Foodservice’s 400,000 SF distribution facility to drive strong associate engagement, outstanding productivity, effective technology and consistent and scalable warehouse and operations processes.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develops warehouse operations systems, processes and associates by determining optimal product handling and storage requirements; develops, implements and evaluates policies and procedures for receiving and shipping of products, equipment utilization, inventory management, and all aspects of labor management.
- Exemplifies courageous leadership; acts through coaching and counseling to foster the professional growth and development of associates. Resolves conflicts and disciplines to correct behaviors, as needed. Maintains positive associate and cross-functional team morale.
- Sets clear goals and expectations; communicates them effectively by establishing a culture of workplace accountability.
- Build a high-performing team by hiring and retaining great talent.
- Leads and manages to key metrics; ensuring a data-driven and results oriented approach that supports successful execution of company strategic objectives. Reviews and analyses daily, weekly and period reports, compares them to budget. Works with VP of Operations to take corrective actions and to ensure achievement of results.
- Develops warehouse operations system and technology improvements by analyzing process workflow, manning and space requirements, and equipment layout. Works with VP of Operations and CIO to implement changes.
- Ensures appropriate physical condition of warehouses, vehicle fleets and equipment.
- Drive highest level of customer quality and satisfaction; ensure superior customer service on shipping commitments to customers. Ensures all customer complaints are handled, and follow ups are made.
- Plan, develop, and implement warehouse safety and security programs and activities (with Safety Manager).

Supervisory Responsibility:
Manages all operational associates through supervisors and / or direct interaction. Is
responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these associates. Carries
out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies, and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and
directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing
complaints and resolving problems.
Work Environment:
This job operates in within our warehouse. While performing the duties of this job,
the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally
exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions, and extreme conditions.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This role routinely uses standard
office equipment such as computers, telephone, headset and photocopiers.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time, Sunday - Thursday Occasional early or late hours
may be required as job duties demand.
Travel:
Travel is primarily locally during business day, although some travel to other IFS location and
other business related travel may be expected.
Required Education and Experience: - 3 - 7 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Abilities: - Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals,
- technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of
- managers, clients, customers, and the public.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole
- numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in
- situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or
- schedule form.
