The Office of Student Life staff and multiple departments aim to help students navigate their time at IU, providing the tools they need to be successful in school and after graduation. Students are our priority, and their health, safety, and overall well-being are our core mission.
Created in 1968, the Groups Scholars Program puts first-generation students and those with socioeconomic barriers on the path to college success by providing academic, financial, and social support, helping them attain a bachelor's degree at Indiana University. In addition, students are offered an extensive student support system, including academic advising, tutoring, enrollment in specialized courses, and activities designed to foster academic success and degree completion.
The Part-time Student Mental Health position is responsible for providing programming assistance for the summer and support office hours.

The Part-time Student Mental Health position is responsible for providing programming assistance for the summer and support office hours.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Assists with the supervision of the Peer Advisors during orientation.
- Provides information to Groups students regarding Healthy Links and other mental health services.
- Helps to create and implement special workshops to meet students' needs.
- Utilizes existing university resources and share with students.
- Grades class assignments.
Required
- Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Background of working with underserved populations.
- 1 year of experience working with or participating in a similar program.
Required
- Organized, responsible, and dependable and ability to work independently.
- Possess analytical problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to actively engage students in the various programs offered through the Groups Office.
- Strong writing, editing and research skills are required.
- Knowledge and proficiency of technological tools.
