RESIDENCE LIFE (BL-RSLF-IUBLA)
The Office of Student Life is focused on building a strong foundation to ensure every student's Indiana University (IU) experience is positive, safe, healthy, and meaningful. The Office of Student Life staff and multiple departments aim to help students navigate their time at IU, providing the tools they need to be successful in school and after graduation. Students are our priority, and their health, safety, and overall well-being are our core mission.
Residence Life houses predominantly first-year students in 15 traditional residence halls. In addition to our traditional floors, we have 21 Living Learning Centers and Thematic Communities and 2 apartment complexes for graduate and family housing.
The Hoosier Den is a late-night entertainment space run by students, for students located in the Foster and Read residence halls. Meet new people, try new things, and have an entertaining evening with us. Our facility always strives to meet the entertainment and social needs of students through dynamic programming and facility accessibility.
The Program Coordinator plays a key role on the Hoosier Den Leadership team and is heavily involved in creating educational programs within their assigned Hoosier Den. The role works closely with the Program Specialists assigned to their Hoosier Den to plan these programmatic experiences.

Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Creates large-scale monthly programming for residents.
- Guides and educates the Program Specialists through the program proposal process to ensure programs are effectively planned.
- Works in collaboration with the Building Coordinator to ensure programmatic efforts are managed seamlessly.
- Evaluates program trends and presents future program needs based on assessment with the assistance of the Residence Life Coordinator for Student Involvement and Engagement.
- Aids the Residence Life Coordinator for Student Involvement and Engagement in creating transition documents and training materials for all levels of Hoosier Den staff, for the longevity of the Den, and the benefit of future partners.
- Notifies the Residence Life Coordinator for Student Involvement and Engagement when misconduct or policy violations involving Den employees or patrons occur.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required
- Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Program development and event management experience
- Previous experience working in the Hoosier Dens as a staff member
Required
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to accomplish tasks on deadlines
- Ability to plan, set up, and manage events from start to finish
- Basic understanding of event technology (e.g., microphones, projectors, AV equipment)
- Willing to work in a collaborative team environment
