What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fully Funded Ph.D. Graduate Assistantship (Fall 2026) position at Indiana University Bloomington?
’m currently seeking qualified applicants for a Ph.D. Graduate Assistantship in the Department of Health & Wellness Design, School of Public Health, Indiana University Bloomington, starting Fall 2026.
This on-campus assistantship includes:
💰 A competitive 9-month stipend (20 hours/week)
🎓 A full tuition waiver (student fees not included)
🔄 Renewable for up to 4 academic years (contingent on satisfactory performance)
➕ Potential additional pay during the academic year and summer for teaching and/or working on grant-funded projects
Graduate Assistant Responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with – and eventually independently leading – research and teaching activities
- Helping develop quantitative and qualitative data collection protocols in collaborative partnerships
- Coordinating research activities and study logistics
- Analyzing, summarizing, and reporting data
- Contributing to peer-reviewed manuscripts and other scholarly products
- Assisting with grant writing
- Engaging in international and interprofessional research collaborations
- Presenting findings at regional, national, and international conferences
- Other scholarly activities as requested
🔬 Key Research Areas & Populations in my program include (but are not limited to):
- Establishing evidence-based practices in health, wellness, and recreational therapy
- Digital Health & Digital Therapeutics
Socially assistive robotics
Virtual reality
Conversational user interfaces
- Ecological Momentary Assessment (experience sampling)
- Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, with a special focus on autism spectrum disorder
- Individuals with spinal cord injury
- Cross-cultural perspectives and differences
✅ Preferred Qualifications:
- Background or experience in an allied health field
- CTRS credential (preferred, not required)
- Experience with interdisciplinary or multi-disciplinary projects
- Some experience with qualitative and/or quantitative social science research methods
- Basic understanding of scholarly activity (e.g., research process, dissemination)
- Prior experience working on manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication
