Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Acts as first point of contact for the Employee and Labor Relations Center Of Expertise (COE).
- Receives calls, emails and as applicable, walk-in visits form employees, which may include requests of a critical nature.
- Monitors and responds to basic inquiries through Salesforce, Employee Relations email, and other avenues, and as needed, partners with or refers situations to applicable consultant or manager to respond to more advanced inquires.
- Assists in scheduling a variety of Employee Relations-related meetings /events.
- Coordinates data entry and tracking of grievances, employee files, and other related items.
- Assists with background check adjudication through the HireRight system and assists in reviewing position data to determine applicable Programs Involving Children (PIC) status.
- Answers inquiries and clarifies processes and policies for employees and units.
- Coordinates, processes, verifies, and maintains academic and/or staff HR related work, which may include but not limited to: recruitment, training, benefits, employee relations, tenure, performance evaluations, classifications, I-9s and employee leaves of absence.
- Researches and analyzes academic and/or staff HR related topics to help assist in resolving issues and/or creating solutions.
- Creates, compiles, prepares, and analyzes reports and documents for academic and/or staff HR related activities.
- Performs and may coordinate data entry for processing transactions and maintaining and keeping information current for candidates, employees and/or retirees on a variety of academic and/or staff HR issues.
- Provides administrative and related support to other academic and/or staff HR staff.
- Supports and maintains academic and/or staff HR programs and events; maintains up-to-date records of actions, decisions, and time frames.
- Maintains high standards of confidentiality of all employee records and documents.
EDUCATION
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED).
WORK EXPERIENCE
- 3 years of HR related experience plus advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite products.
