Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Supports daily system operations, manages user access and participation, maintains application configuration, documents processes, and assists with issue resolution and system improvements.
- Works closely with developers, stakeholders, and users to help ensure the application operates reliably and effectively supports organizational and operational needs.
- Administers and supports the shared services application to ensure reliable system performance and effective day-to-day operations.
- Serves as a primary point of contact for application support, providing guidance, troubleshooting, and issue triage for users.
- Coordinates user access, organizational participation, and related administrative processes within the application.
- Maintains application configuration, including workflows, forms, subtasks, and other functional components.
- Collaborates with stakeholders to gather and synthesize key information, identify operational needs, and translate those needs into effective application solutions and process improvements.
- Assists with planning, testing, implementation, and documentation of application updates, enhancements, and system changes.
- Monitors application performance and helps identify, document, and resolve system issues or operational risks.
- Supports data accuracy and operational consistency by maintaining appropriate system configuration, documentation, and procedures.
- Maintains application documentation, training materials, and user communications related to application processes and updates.
- Facilitates communication and collaboration among users, developers, leadership, and other partners regarding system needs, updates, and priorities.
- Participates in meetings, projects, and planning activities related to the administration and continuous improvement of the shared services application.
- Provides specialized customer support through provisioning, creation of projects or workspaces within applications, and/or customizing products to customer specifications.
- Troubleshoots and analyzes problems and bugs in applications and products.
- Performs complex upgrades, releases, customization, and documentation of work according to team's established methodology.
- Performs programming, scripting, and modifications of application and products for corrective action.
- Collaborates with technical and functional business clients and teams within the central information technology organization.
- Contributes to project planning, objective formulation, task estimation and evaluation of customer requests.
- May train, mentor and provide guidance and feedback to less experienced staff.
EDUCATION
Required
- Bachelor's degree (preferably in computer science, business systems, or related field).
WORK EXPERIENCE
- 2 years in customer/application support, programming, or related experience.
- Experience working in higher education, shared services, or another complex administrative environment.

- Experience providing user support, training, troubleshooting, or coordinating operational processes.
- Experience developing training materials, user guidance, or procedural documentation.
- Experience supporting user access management, onboarding, or organizational configuration processes.
- Experience with system testing, issue tracking, and process or system documentation.
- Familiarity with Jira, Visio, Salesforce, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with IU systems such as HRMS, BUY.IU, Emburse, KFS, or other related enterprise systems.
