We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Inside Sales Representative to join our fastener sales team. This position will be responsible for managing customer inquiries, preparing quotations, processing orders, developing customer relationships, and supporting outside sales efforts.
The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of fasteners, industrial parts, and hardware, along with excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to customer inquiries by phone, email, and other communication channels.
- Prepare accurate quotations and follow up on open quotes.
- Process customer purchase orders and verify pricing, quantities, specifications, and delivery requirements.
- Provide product recommendations based on customer applications and specifications.
- Identify and quote fasteners and related parts accurately and efficiently.
- Read and interpret part numbers, product specifications, engineering drawings, and customer requirements.
- Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, shipping, and outside sales teams to meet customer requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers.
- Identify opportunities for additional sales of fasteners, hardware, and related products.
- Follow up with customers regarding orders, backorders, lead times, and deliveries.
- Resolve customer concerns and provide timely solutions.
- Maintain accurate customer, pricing, and sales information in the ERP/CRM system.
- Assist outside sales representatives with quotes, samples, product information, and customer follow-up.
- Monitor inventory availability, pricing, and supplier lead times.
- Meet established sales, customer service, and revenue goals.
Fastener & Parts Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of industrial fasteners and related components, including bolts, screws, nuts, washers, studs, rivets, pins, threaded rod, and specialty fasteners.
- Ability to identify fasteners by size, diameter, length, thread type, pitch, grade, material, finish, and head style.
- Familiarity with SAE and metric fasteners and common industry specifications and standards.
- Knowledge of materials and finishes including stainless steel, carbon steel, alloy steel, zinc plating, and various coatings.
- Ability to understand and interpret fastener part numbers, specifications, drawings, and customer requirements.
- Ability to cross-reference part numbers and identify equivalent or alternate products when appropriate.
- Ability to recommend the appropriate fastener or related component based on the customer's application and specifications.
Qualifications
- 2 years of inside sales, customer service, sales support, or related experience, preferably in fasteners, industrial distribution, manufacturing, or hardware.
- Demonstrated knowledge of fasteners, industrial parts, and related hardware.
- Strong ability to understand product specifications and part numbers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong customer-service and relationship-building skills.
- Good computer skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Pay: From $40,000.00 per year
