Public health and Healthcare services are vital for reducing the mortality and morbidity of the masses. Public health activities are focused on health promotion, prevention and treatment of diseases, and increasing longevity. To provide Universal Health Coverage, the health care system needs to be sound and address all relevant health issues. The NFHS-6 (2023-24) showed that the states have made considerable progress on the health front in the period between NFHS-4 and NFHS-6. There is a significant improvement in the Reproductive & Child Health and Fertility indicators.
